Second Hand Shops in Tartu: Uuskasutuskeskus

The Store

Uuskasutuskeskus is Estonian for "re-use centre". The idea is people donate their recyclable clothes, furniture and other items to be resold or given to people and families in need. There is a box for donations next to the door. Uuskasutuskeskus is a non-profit organization that co-operates with different charities.
The shop is located 10 minutes from the city centre. The store is very clean and well lighted and divided into sections: you have the dishes, furniture and books while the clothing is arranged according to type of garment. If you are in need of cheap clothes in good condition, this is the place to shop at.

The Merchandise

All clothing items are under 4 euros, except for the jackets and shoes that have variable prices. This shop is an excellent place to find retro items, such as coffee cups, post cards and books from the Soviet years. Mostly the garments are everyday pieces, but there is also a retro rack, which is always worth checking out. Bokkila has never left the shop empty-handed.
